What Ι must do if Ι don't get my water bill?

When can I visit the WBL’s Offices in order to settle my bill?
The WBL cash desks are open to consumers from Monday to Friday, from 7.45 am until 2.00 pm. They are closed on weekends and bank holidays.
Where are the WBL’s Offices located?
Our Offices are located at 66, Franklin Roosevelt Avenue, the street extending from Limassol Marina (old port) to Zakaki. Our premises are located next to the Social Insurance building and the Sewerage Board of Limassol - Amathus Offices.
Which number should I call to report damage caused while your Offices are closed?

How can I be sure that the drinking water is of high quality?
The water quality in Limassol meets the EU strict requirements on drinking water. Water quality tests are frequently carried out on all water supply sources of the WBL, as well as on various consumption points located within its water supply network and they are conducted by the Public Health Services of the Ministry of Health and the State General Laboratory. Moreover, the WBL conducts further water quality tests, carried out by a private laboratory.
I have found a leak in my plumbing installation and the water meter is registering water flow. Could you arrange for a competent person to repair the leak?
The WBL is responsible for the water supply network (mains and water pipe) up to the water meter of the premises. After the water meter, the WBL bears no responsibility and the owner shall be responsible for the rest of the plumbing installation (water distribution pipe). For blocks of flats with a central water meter, the WBL shall be responsible for the section that reaches up to the central water meter. The management committee of the block of flats shall be responsible for the rest of the installation, lying after the water meter.
Department of Water Supply Re-connection or Disconnection
What should I do to avoid water supply disconnection in case I forget to settle my bill?
You must register your contact details - mobile number and e-mail address -to the database of the Consumers’ Department of the WBL. The Board, in accordance with its Regulations, after the due date of the bill, shall send a notification to the consumer via SMS or e-mail, using the contact details provided. In case the bill remains unsettled after such notice and after a certain period of time, the Board may disconnect the water supply without further notice.
I am a registered consumer and I wish to disconnect the water supply at my premises. What should I do?
Provided that you are the registered consumer of the premises, you may apply for water supply disconnect at your premises by signing and delivering a relevant application to the WBL’s Offices. Alternatively, you may send your instructions in writing by:
Note: A consumer may ask for the disconnection of his water supply either because he intends to leave the premises or because he no longer wishes the water supply at certain premises. Depending on the water meter reading, the final charges shall be estimated and a bill shall be issued including such amount due to the WBL until the date of disconnection. Where a deposit is being kept as a bill payment guarantee on your credit, then the last bill shall be repaid from such amount. If, however, the amount due on the last bill is smaller than the deposit, the remaining amount shall be returned to the consumer within a few weeks. On the contrary, in case the amount due on the last bill exceeds the deposit, then the excess amount shall be paid by the consumer before the disconnection of the water supply services.
Although the quarterly charging period has not ended yet, I would like to find out the due amount today. What should I do?
In order to estimate the charges, you must provide the number shown on the water meter reading on that specific day, by taking a photo with a camera or your phone. The engraved numbers indicating the water meter number, as well as the reading in cubic meters must be clearly shown on the photo. If this is not possible, a WBL employee may visit the premises and register the water meter reading. This may take up to two working days.
What should I do in order to re-connect my water meter?
For the re-connection of a water meter that had been previously disconnected, you must pay the amount of €35 corresponding to re-connection charges, as well as the deposit amount, whether in full or in supplement of the amount depending on the consumer’s status:

€250 for tenants or

€50 for owners
In case you are the owner of the premises, you must additionally provide the property title or the sale and purchase agreement. If you represent a company, you must:

provide the company registration certificate / the Directors certificate,

provide the company seal,
-
be duly authorised by the Company Director to represent the company, in case s/he will not visit him/herself the WBL’s Offices.
Provided that in all cases if the bill has an outstanding debit amount, such amount must be firstly paid.
I dispute the accuracy of my water meter reading and I would like to request a relevant inspection. Which procedure should I follow?
You have the right to request a water meter accuracy inspection. You may have your water meter inspected by paying the amount of €35 at the Board’s cash desks.
I. In case the inspection carried out demonstrates that the water meter is faulty, a new water meter shall be installed and the consumption shall be readjusted based on the consumption of the previous corresponding period. Then, the amount of €35 shall be returned to the consumer.
II. In case, however, the inspection carried out by the Board demonstrates that the water meter is not faulty, the same water meter shall be installed back and the amount of €35 shall not be returned to the consumer.
Provided that during the water meter reading inspection, the water supply to the premises shall continue without interruption.

Which procedure should I follow in order to install a water meter at my house/apartment (premises) that is currently being constructed?
For water supply to premises, you must provide the following:

The minimum charges for a new water meter installation, set by the Board, amount to €210 today (for a total area smaller than 450m²) and shall be paid upon submitting the application, before the water meter installation. (Additional deposit for owners: €50). However, the exact amount for a new water meter installation shall be estimated after the application has been submitted and the owner shall be informed in writing by the Board.
Which procedure should I follow in order to install a water meter on a floor that is currently being added to an existing building?
In order to install a water meter on a floor that is being added to an existing building, you must provide the following:

I have an old auxiliary building and I wish to install a second water meter. Which documents should I provide?
Provided that this is an independent building housing a separate family, you must provide the following:

I closed my semi-basement and I would like to install a second water meter. What should I do in order to apply?
You may submit an application only if the semi-basement has been constructed with a building permit and the average water consumption of the previous year exceeded 120 cubic meters per 4 monthly period. Moreover, the semi-basement must be independent and house a separate family.
Which procedure should I follow in order to apply for water supply at Turkish/Cypriot premises / parcel?
For water supply at Turkish Cypriot premises / parcel, you must provide the following:

Which procedure should I follow in order to apply for water supply at premises / parcel located outside the WBL area of supply?
For water supply to premises / parcels outside the WBL area of supply, a relevant letter must be sent requesting such supply, accompanied by the following:

The Board shall examine the case and inform the owner accordingly, based on whether the requirements related to premises located outside the WBL area of supply are met.
Which is the procedure related to water supply for purposes of land development and/or division of land into plots?
Every person requesting water supply for purposes of land development and/or division of land into plots must submit, together with the application, the following documents:

Division permit (renewed)

Survey plan 1:5.000 scale

Survey plan 1:1.000 scale

Official list including the area of each plot
In case the parcel in question belongs to more than one owner, a proxy must be submitted, duly signed by every owner of the land to be divided into plots, and certified by a certifying officer. The application is submitted under one name.
How long does it take to install a new water meter?
It usually takes up to 2-3 weeks from the submission date of the application to the WBL, accompanied by all necessary documents.
